Esperance Bird & Animal Park Café is a unique spot where a casual café experience mixes with a small-scale zoo, tucked just off the Esperance Highway. It’s easy to find and offers plenty of parking, making it a convenient stop for families or anyone traveling through the area looking for a relaxed break.

The café itself has a straightforward, approachable vibe — nothing fancy but well suited to the kind of down-to-earth crowd that comes here. Coffee is solid and pairs well with their all-day breakfast, which offers good value for around $10. The menu also highlights simple, comforting items like wedges, sweet chili chicken wraps, and a fisherman's basket, reflecting a place catering to casual tastes rather than gourmet ambitions.

What really sets this place apart is the chance to explore the adjacent bird and animal park. Visitors often mention how friendly and interactive the animals are — many of the birds and smaller farm animals like baby goats and rabbits allow for hand feeding, which makes it especially appealing for families with children. The setup encourages a slow, meandering visit, giving people a chance to relax and connect with the animals in a hands-on way.

While most enclosures show attentive care, there have been some notes about occasional maintenance issues, particularly around smaller animal areas. This suggests the park is a work in progress, with room for improvement but still generally providing a pleasant environment for visitors and the animals alike.

The best time to drop by tends to be late mornings or early afternoons on weekends when it’s busy enough to feel lively, but not overcrowded. The atmosphere is informal and welcoming, with staff known for being friendly and approachable — the kind of place where it’s easy to strike up a conversation or ask about the animals.

Ultimately, Esperance Bird & Animal Park Café suits families or travelers seeking a low-key outing combining a meal and some gentle wildlife interactions. It’s not just about the food or the park alone, but the combined experience of a roadside stop that’s both practical and a bit different from the usual café or zoo visit.

This is a little gem of a place to go to. The staff are super friendly and a joy to interact with. The birds and animals in this park are well looked after. It was fun to wander through the park and see the birds and animals that were very friendly and happy to let you hand feed them. The all day breakfast was excellent and well worth the $10.00 Coffee was also very nice. Definitely worth a trip and not far from town. Kids will love this place.

Great little place to stop by with the kids The food was actually really good , and the staff were friendly Definitely a must go to ! I just wish they spent a little more time cleaning enclosures because some of the chickens and smaller animals had moldy and rotten food everywhere

Great place for kids and adults Alike. Closed Mon tue wed. Cafe is well priced. Good variety of birds and animals that seem well looked after. Great to be able to get in with the baby goats and rabbits to pat.

$10 all day breakfast of bacon and eggs, great value. Little expensive to visit the animal park but the Highland Cattle up the driveway were beautiful. Well worth the drive from Esperance.

Lovely place. Plenty of parking and easy to find. It wasn't too busy when we went on a Sunday morning, bird enclosures are great and they leave feeding pots to hand feed the birds who are very gentle. On the other side are the farm animals and with food in hand it was quite fun feeding them, including the loud goats. This is one of the better bird parks, especially after the nightmare that is the Broome bird park. Well done Esperance! Definitely worth a visit!

Simple yummy breakfast at very affordable price ($10). Very friendly staffs. Admission to bird and animal park : $10 per person. Plus they gave me bags of animal pallets so I can feed the animals (they were so greedy animals). The baby goats were very gentle. The pallets are unsuitable for birds and fish. The bird park itself have many pretty birds. Very good if you are have young children and take them here to learn about birds and other animals. The park easy to get around within an hour. Worth a visit while you are in Esperance. It only takes 15 minutes driving from the centre of town.

This place was absolutely awesome. It’s a very different feel to the animal sanctuaries that are on the east coast. The staff were very friendly and there were no unpleasant smells. The animals looked in good health. The family and I had a great time talking to and feeding the animals. What a great day!!

$14 entry for adult is totally worth it. Nice hamburger and chips, very friendly staff, valuable animal feeding experience. Highly recommend for animal and bird lovers.
